Zinc is involved in dozens of functions throughout the body and is a real all-rounder. It supports e.g. various functions of the immune system, contributes to a normal acid-base metabolism, is an important antioxidant and thus helps to protect the cells against oxidative stress. In addition, zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction and plays a role in maintaining the skin, hair, nails and bones healthy. Folate is also involved in a number of metabolic processes in the body.
It plays a role in cell division and blood formation and, like zinc, is involved in normal immune system function. In addition, folate contributes to the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy and is required for the development of the neural tube of the unborn child.
